PMSA confident of further growth following successful bauma campaign

Pan Mixers South Africa (PMSA) has consolidated its reputation for being the largest supplier of concrete brick, block and paving-making machinery and technology in Africa - following a highly-successful display at the 2013 bauma Africa Trade Fair.

PMSA marketing and sales manager Quintin Booysen highlights the fact that the company’s indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, which totalled more than 300 m2, showcased the company's comprehensive concrete technology and solutions offering , which was well-received by thousands of guests that attended the event held in Midrand in September 2013.

"The outdoor stand served as a demonstration area to showcase the capabilities of the PMSA range machinery, including; the Fiori self-loading concrete batching vehicle, the automated RE600 concrete brick and block making machines, in addition to a wide range of HTC floor grinding and polishing machinery and accessories with live polishing and grinding demonstrations," he explains.

What's more, PMSA also hosted 15 of its international and local suppliers at the event, in order to provide existing and potential clients with the opportunity to obtain expert advice and insight, while showcasing the latest advancements that the company has to offer.

Representatives from all of PMSA's  international supply companies were on-hand at the PMSA indoor exhibition stand throughout the duration of bauma Africa, including the new additions to the PMSA supplier chain;

  • IMER: An international leader in concrete batching and mixing equipment technology
  • RAMPF: A specialist in precision block, brick and paving making moulds
  • ABECE: An expert manufacturer of concrete roof tiling systems
  • Turbosol: A pumping technology provider for the building industry
  • Pavatile: An award winning wet-cast simulated stone mould manufacturer and supplier

With specific focus on the concrete industry, Booysen notes that the trend both locally and internationally is a continued move towards more plant automation. "The South African industry in particular continues to move away from labour intensive methods of manufacturing, as a direct consequence of continued labour unrest and the resultant rise in labour costs."

Due to the overwhelming success experienced at the event, PMSA will rebuild its bauma stand, which will serve as a permanent exhibition at the company's in-house showroom. Looking further ahead, Booysen states that PMSA plans to focus on its 2014 strategic imperatives, which include monthly industry-specific open training sessions held onsite at the PMSA showroom and sales facility in Jet Park, Boksburg.

"In order to add greater value to our existing product offering, we will be hosting various concrete industry experts from our current suppliers from around Africa and Europe, who will provide relevant guests with specific workshop and training that is in line with PMSA's offering to industry throughout 2014," he concludes.
