A-OSH Expo 2019 boasts largest exhibitor numbers to date: Registrations now open

From Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery.

Online registration is open for the largest iteration to date of A-OSH EXPO, Africa’s leading occupational health and safety (OHS) expo, taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre over three jam-packed days from 14 to 16 May.

‘The 2018 show jumped to over 100 exhibitors for the first time in its then-eight year history, and this year’s show is going to be even bigger, with the final exhibitor tally now sitting at 115,’ says Sven Smit, portfolio director at Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery , the event organisers.

‘We are very pleased with the growing interest shown in A-OSH EXPO, and delighted to see this ninth annual version of Africa’s largest OHS expo growing in leaps and bounds – as its exhibitors well deserve. At A-OSH EXPO 2019, OHS professionals across all verticals will once again be exposed to the latest technology, solutions and products through the exhibitors, while the sharpest minds in the business present on current trends, the latest legislation and updated thinking through our expert speakers at the SAPEMA free-to-attend seminar theatre.’

Visitor attractions

Confirmed visitor attractions include the PASMA Working at Heights Theatre; the one-day InFIRes workshop for insurance technical employees, presented by the Fire Protection Association of South Africa (FPASA); and the Saiosh free-to-attend seminar theatre (powered by Saiosh and SAPEMA).

‘New this year, offering both fun and functionality,’ adds Smit, ‘is the not-to-be missed PPE fashion show presented by SAPEMA – because who says that personal and protective equipment cannot be stylish also?’

Other interesting offerings – to name just a few - include information and technology related to alcohol and drug safety testing; dealing with dangerous snakes in the work environment; information on legal compliance; on-site screening for health factors such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels and cholesterol levels; hearing testing; and tried and trusted suppliers of all PPE, cleaning and industrial supplies.

Co-located shows

To pull in the crowds even further, this year offers free access to three co-located shows under one roof. Facilities Management Expo 2019, which brings together all aspects of products and services associated with property and building management and maintenance, runs alongside A-OSH EXPO, while a third co-located show again adds to the interest in the form of the 26th annual Securex South Africa, presenting the latest in the security and fire sectors.

Dromex, a major company in the supply of technology solutions for personal protective equipment (PPE) is again the platinum sponsor, while BBF Safety Group, an integrated workplace safety solutions provider, has reprised its role as the show’s gold sponsor.

Silver sponsors include Occu|Fit, a leader in the employee well-being industry; PASMA, the world’s lead trade association for the mobile access tower industry; Select PPE, a leader in the procurement and distribution of quality and application-specific products that protect people, and Saiosh, recognised as the professional body to register occupational health and safety professionals in South Africa.

Concludes Smit, ‘Online registration is open for free, fast and easy entry into the show. We urge OHS professionals not to miss this great opportunity to get up to speed with all things wellness and safety related, through the seminars, the exhibitors and the unbeatable networking opportunities.’
