AR Metallizing has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Eurofoil – Paper Coating in Berlin from Aluminium Investment Company.

The transaction was first announced on 11 November 2019 and has been approved since then by the relevant regulatory authority.

Strong asset base

Eurofoil – Paper Coating is a sizeable European manufacturer of laminated and metallised inner liners. In the past 60 years, they have built a comprehensive portfolio of inner liners encompassing laminated, metallised and pure slitted and coated paper products. The acquisition strengthens AR Metallizing’s global footprint and the inclusion of Eurofoil – Paper Coating staff takes AR Metallizing’s headcount to approximately 700.

Eurofoil – Paper Coating’s plant in Berlin is well-equipped and enjoys a strong asset base with highly automated equipment, including water-based lacquering and metallising lines, which are among some of the fastest in the world. The plant enjoys all the key certifications to serve its customers efficiently.

Full integration of Eurofoil – Paper Coating

‘We are delighted to have completed the acquisition within such an ambitious timeframe and look forward to fully integrating Eurofoil – Paper Coating under the AR Metallizing brand in the coming weeks,’ says Dr Bart Devos, AR Metallizing’s CEO. ‘As well as growing our production capacity and meeting increased customer demand, the acquisition of Eurofoil – Paper Coating has expanded the number of products we can offer for direct food contact packaging applications. Likewise, the acquisition will allow us to strengthen our position as a provider of choice for multinational firms looking to use eco-friendly, paper-based packaging and labelling materials,’ adds Bart.
